At Promedica24 Derbyshire and Nottingham we believe people in need of home care should have the choice to stay as independent as possible, have their individual care needs assessed and be matched with a carefully selected carer.

Our services vary from simple companionship and respite support to more advanced specialisms such as dementia, Parkinson’s, cancer and end-of-life home care services. We also help those returning from hospital to recouperate in the comfort of their own how and provide respite care for those with short term care needs. We cover the whole region, including rural areas, from Newark to Nottingham, and Elston to Brannston.

Many people simply require companionship and help with the day to day things, rather than having more complex care needs. We will endeavour to find compatible companions who can help make life that little bit easier at home. Our carer will help you with things like cooking, cleaning, gardening, shopping and socialising. They will help with morning and night-time routines, meaning that you can plan out your days exactly how you choose to.

Our team of dedicated carers are highly skilled and deeply compassionate, ensuring that each individual receives the utmost respect, empathy, and companionship throughout their journey. Whether it’s assistance with daily activities, emotional support, or simply companionship, we are committed to fostering a nurturing environment where individuals can thrive.

We needed 24-hour care for my dad after a hip replacement. Having had 24/7 care for weeks in hospital we wanted him to be helped back to independence after returning from hospital. A friend recommended Promedica who were professional from our first contact. We had two visits from the management team to meet and find out about my dad, his interests/beliefs etc and his physical and recovery needs. The carer arrived (and left!) promptly, as arranged and between times looked after my dad and house perfectly, encouraging him day on day to push himself a little more, doing more himself re his personal care, making a drink, dressing and by the time our contract ended, Dad was indeed back to pretty much where he had been before his fall. Behind the scenes, the admin and contract work, billing etc was timely and professional and we were kept fully informed. Promedica will be my first port of call if we need this type of care for my dad in future. Thank you so much.

Our carer for my father was just an angel, who arrived at the time in which my father's vascular dementia started to deteriorate further. Her patience and care and positive up upbeat attitude was just what he needed to keep him going. I am happy with the communication and prompt attention we get from Promedica on all administrative matters too, they are very efficient. But the main priority is of course having the right carer look after your family member and I feel Promedica have done a good job of assessing my father's needs and making an appropriate placement. We just wish the carer could have stayed longer!

Promedica24 have cared for our mother, now in her nineties, in her own home for the past three years. It has been a lifeline for our mum, who has dementia, enabling her to have the very best care and stay in familiar surroundings. We are so grateful for the amazing service we have had from carers who have all been outstanding, and so incredibly patient and kind. They became almost a part of our family. Not only did they always anticipate our mother's needs and preferences, but they also cooked delicious and healthy meals for her, read and sang with her, and took her for daily walks when she was still mobile. Alas her mobility has now declined so that she needs the facilities of a care home, but the years with ProMedica have been a peaceful and happy chapter in her later life. The management side were always helpful and sympathetic when we had any questions or needed advice. We would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Promedica24 enabled our dad to remain at home in his last days, which was his strong preference. When we first contacted Promedica, they immediately provided very full and helpful information. Most important of all, all four carers who looked after our dad were very caring and great communicators.

The quality of care, support and professionalism I’ve received from Promedica24 have been exemplary and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. I was particularly blessed by my carer who fitted in splendidly and whose kindness and attention to detail in following the clinicians instructions was superb and aided my post operative recuperation.

We cannot thank Promedica enough. We worked very hard to keep my mother with motor neurone disease at home until the end of her life. A previous care company had also tried extremely hard to meet Mum's needs, but within 18 months we had been through 33 live-in carers (2:1 package), and this had been distressing and frustrating for everyone involved. Promedica helped us put together a very bespoke 3:1 live-in care package which enabled us to support Mum successfully at home to the end of her life, and we can’t thank the wonderful and very professional carers enough. Our very sincere thanks also goes to all of them, without whom the package would not have been possible. This includes their team leader and customer services support who were absolutely key to ensuring the package we built was robust enough to support Mum and the complexities of her care. A huge thank you to everyone - the support provided by Promedica has been excellent.

I choose to work in the care sector because I meet lots of amazing people all the time, from the people we support to other like-minded colleagues who genuinely care.

Working for Promedica24 has given me the opportunity to really make a difference to people who prefer to stay in their own homes, at a time in their lives when they feel a little more vulnerable.

Tony Lamb

Care Consultant

I started working for Promedica24 in 2020 offering people a genuine alternative to residential care. I have personal experience of being a carer myself and has therefore led me to becoming an advocate for live-in care for others. I truly believe in keeping your independence by staying within your own home is a fantastic option for those who need extra support.

What’s included in Live-in home care?

Personal Care

Our compassionate home carers offer discreet and sensitive personal care services, ensuring you receive the support you require without compromising your privacy or burdening family members with intimate routines. They can respectfully assist with toileting, bathing, dressing, or other personal care tasks.

Companionship

For those living alone or at a distance from loved ones, a home carer offers companionship through shared activities like watching TV, playing games, attending clubs, or simply enjoying a friendly chat over a cup of tea, providing a comforting presence and enriching daily life.

Household Chores

A home carer ensures a comfortable and relaxing home environment by taking care of all housework or providing assistance as needed. With their help, your home will be kept clean and tidy, allowing you to enjoy a well-maintained space without the burden of household chores.

Getting Out And About

Support from a home carer allows you to maintain your independence while receiving care. Your carer can accompany you wherever you desire, whether it’s running errands, visiting friends, or even taking a weekend getaway, ensuring you have the freedom to enjoy your life without limitations.

Dietary Needs

With a home, you can enjoy your favourite meals, drinks, and snacks prepared at your preferred times. They’ll handle the cooking, washing up, and tidying, ensuring a hassle-free dining experience. Additionally, they can prepare nutritious meals tailored to your specific dietary requirements, promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Complex Care

For individuals with complex care needs, our home carers receive comprehensive training to offer the necessary support. This includes tailored care for specialist conditions such as dementia and cancer. We provide personalised, bespoke support to ensure the highest quality of care for even the most challenging situations.

The Liberating Choice:

Care at Home vs.
Residential Care Home

The decision between home care and residential care is a significant one, with implications for the well-being and freedom of our loved ones as they age. Learn about the distinct freedoms that home care offers over traditional residential care settings.

Home care excels in preserving the independence of individuals by allowing them to remain in the comfort of their own homes. Unlike residential care, which may necessitate a move to a communal setting, care at home enables people to maintain control over their environment, promoting a sense of autonomy.

The freedom to receive personalised care in familiar surroundings is a cornerstone of care at home. Care plans are tailored to the unique needs and preferences of the individual, ensuring that daily routines and activities align with their accustomed lifestyle. This personalised approach contributes to a greater sense of freedom and well-being.

Home care provides unparalleled flexibility in daily living. Caregivers adapt to the individual’s schedule, allowing for a more dynamic and responsive approach to care. This flexibility extends to activities, social engagements, and personal pursuits, fostering an environment where individuals can live without the constraints of rigid institutional routines.

The companionship offered by home carers plays a crucial role in promoting emotional well-being. Unlike the potentially transient relationships in residential care facilities, carers become a constant presence in the individual’s life. This deep connection reduces feelings of loneliness, providing a sense of security and freedom to share life’s moments with a trusted companion.

In the choice between home care and residential care, the freedom afforded by the former emerges as a pivotal factor. By prioritising independence, personalisation, and flexibility, it offers a liberating alternative for those seeking to age gracefully within the comforting embrace of home. This choice empowers individuals to maintain control over their lives, fostering a sense of freedom that is essential for a fulfilling and dignified later life experience.

The primary role of a carer is to provide you or your loved one with the care and support they require to continue enjoying a comfortable and independent life, all from the comfort of their own home.

Responsibilities of a carer may include household tasks such as cleaning and laundry, preparing meals and snacks, helping you get out and about or providing assistance with personal care, such as bathing, getting dressed and going to the toilet. However, if your care needs are more complex carers may provide a higher level of care depending on your care plan. They can administer medication or support conditions such as dementia or Parkinson’s.

At Promedica24, our carers are the foundation of our business. That’s why we take necessary measures to ensure they are carefully selected, trained to a high standard and security screened, taking personal and professional references from previous care experience.

Many of our carers have chosen care as a vocation, having a love for what they do. We’re proud to have them as core members of our team.

Our carers report to our experienced care managers. Compared to an unregulated live-in personal assistant, this support system provides a quality of care you can rely on, giving you and your family peace of mind.

During your care assessment, we assess not only your care needs but also learn about your interests, beliefs, likes and dislikes so we can pair you with the right carer who you will develop a close and meaningful relationship with.

Promedica24 is regulated and rated Good by the Care Quality (CQC) Commission. This means that we can provide you with fully regulated and safe care. Our high standards are not only set by us but also by the regulator.

Introductory agencies will not manage your care and you will have full responsibility for paying your carer’s salary, making sure that everything is covered from the tax perspective and trusting that your carer went through a robust recruitment process like the one that is required from the CQC regulated providers.

Live-in care means that a carer will live in your home with you, full-time, in order to provide one-to-one personalised care.

Our live-in care packages give you the option to stay in your own home, with additional support and companionship. This means you can maintain your independence and stay close to friends, family, familiar neighbours and pets while giving you and your loved ones peace of mind.

Our carers will help you with things like cooking, cleaning, gardening, shopping and socialising, plus your morning and nighttime routines, so you can continue to plan out your days how you want to.

In some cases, it’s possible to get support and funding from a local authority to go towards your live-in care costs. Get in touch with one of our regional partners for more information – they are experts in these kinds of payments and are more than happy to help.

Drawing on years of experience, our aim is to pair you with a carer who meets all your needs. We take the time and consideration to bring you together with the perfect companion based on personality, interests and lifestyle, with your happiness and well-being as our priority.

We’ve learned to be sensitive to people’s individual needs and to resolve any issues that arise with the support of our wider team and highly experienced care managers.

Yes, we do. Our short-term services range from as little as two weeks and can support you with things like coming home after a hospital stay, respite cover for family members or carers, or providing comfort with compassionate end-of-life care.
